Making the new Stalwart-class Light Frigate for SotP2 was a fun endeavor, and involved primarily taking the visual representation of the ship from the H2A Blur cinematics and translating it to our style. I handled the mesh, Uv and textures for this updated model.
One of the most challenging aspects of this project was accurately portraying the armor panels present on the Blur model. We successfully settled on a style that strikes a balance between intricate detailing and adherence to our low-poly parameters, ensuring optimal performance within the game environment. The ship is seperated into 2 UV channels-1 for the ship itself and 1 for the additional armor pieces to ensure texel density was maintained.
